I do not believe there is a particular neighborhood in or near Bridgeport that has a number of Indians. We can help you find a place to live but would need to know more information including budget, what you expect for that budget, whether you need good schools and the type of neighborhood you like (urban, suburban or rural). Bridgeport is a large city by Connecticut standards. It has good and bad areas. Possible areas for you to look for a place are Black Rock west of Ellsworth Street; the North End north of North Avenue and west of Main Street; the Beardsley Park area and Downtown. Which is best for you is personal preference.

If good schools are important, you then will need to look in adjacent suburbs. Bridgeport schools struggle to perform well and are among the worst performing in the state. The best performing schools can be found in Fairfield, Easton and Trumbull. These are beautiful suburban (Easton is more rural) towns but are more expensive. Stratford is nice but schools there do not perform as well and there are a couple small areas near Bridgeport that can be considered sketchy. Still a very nice town though. As I said we need more information to help you. Jay

I live in Trumbull but I go shopping on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton. There are a lot of nice apartments on Bridgeport Ave. in Shelton now. I am an artist as my name implies and I like fashion design. I really like the flowing clothes of India and it's fabrics and patterns. I tend to take note when I see people wearing this kind of clothing. I am seeing more people with clothing from India in and around the restaurants and shopping areas of Bridgeport Avenue. Some in my town of Trumbull too but I think the most are in Shelton in the Bridgeport Avenue area.

I did some looking on inline and I think I might be correct in my assesment. Look what I found.

"In 2016, the most common birthplace for the foreign-born residents of Stratford, Shelton, Trumbull, Newtown & Monroe Towns PUMA, CT was India, the natal country of 1,625 Stratford, Shelton, Trumbull, Newtown & Monroe Towns PUMA, CT residents, followed by Italy with 1,528 and Portugal with 1,366."

Let's see if people from Shelton think so too.
