There was a car theft video in Manchester that was shared recently. The owners swear they had the fob in the house, but the car was parked right next to the house so that sparked a whole discussion of how far the fob needed to be away from the car. It was obvious it was unlocked though.

Nah - they’re just embarrassed for being forgetful. Guaranteed their fob was in the car. Fobs definitely don’t work that far away.

It's also harder to get replacement glass for older cars, especially side glass. Many years ago one of my side windows was shot out by kids at work (West Hartford). It was replaced but the tint was completely wrong and they insisted that was all they could get (green vs blue - glaringly wrong)
Must be insurer specific then as the last time I had a CT policy there was no option for a glass deductible with AAA.

Wonder if that guy thought "Hey, it's Darien and I'm in a nice safe area". Whoops.

You know it’s bad when they have to put that on the rear window of the cruiser.

On a similar note, do they do "insurance jobs" anymore? Lol. I feel like I heard more about that in the past.

Would you even be covered if your keys were given to the thief?
