A good thing and about time local education officials did something about helicopter parents.

If you can't accept your kid being away from home for eight or so hours at school that you have to show up during their lunch break, maybe home education is a better option. Then your precious snowflake won't be out of your sight at all during the day.

What is wrong with these parents? It has to be boredom; the example given of moms coming by to open up their milk? I hope these idiots realize what they're doing to their kids.

A little harsh by calling them “idiots”.

I've never heard of parents showing up at a school to eat lunch with their kids.

How bizarre. These mothers "bursting into tears" over the new rule? Are you kidding me? They don't sound mature enough to be mothers.

It's important they enforce this, not just for the kids, but for the mothers. It sounds as if some of them are having trouble allowing their children to separate from them.

Well I have heard of parents showing up at their kids school during lunch, but it was always low income who went to get part or an entire free lunch because otherwise they wouldn't eat.

Truly odd. I can’t remember that ever happening when I was in school.

It didn't because our moms had more important things to do during their eight hours of "freedom" from their children (and or husbands). *LOL*

You know things like go shopping, Bridge games, luncheons, get their hair/nails done, garden club meetings.

Never heard of that, either. The adults could also get free lunch from the school?

My mother didn't work outside, but she didn't play bridge or go out to lunch or get her hair done. She had seven kids, a husband, and a mother-in-law in the house. That's a lot of cooking and laundry.
