Yes, these lists are more art than science, yes, it’s speculation BUT 3 of the top 14 in the small state of CT is a little concerning.

Be ready for people to come to Connecticut’s defense and state facts and opinions to prove otherwise, but again, top 3 out of 14 in a tiny state, sorta says it all

Bridgeport at #3, Hartford at #5, and New Haven at #14.

If this list was accurate it should include the suburbs. CT would not make this list at all. Our cities are small but the surrounding towns are what makes the State great. We are not known for our cities so this list means nothing.

Why should it be shocking that the City of Hartford has a high mortgage delinquency rate? Within the city limits, housing prices aren't appreciating and rents aren't going up. The housing mix is 14% single family homes, 4.8% townhomes, 37% small apartment buildings, and 43% apartment complexes. 23.8% owner-occupied. Job loss, sickness, bad tenant in a multi-family and the loan is in default with no shot of selling the house unless it's a short sale.

What was the purpose of changing the stories headline to what you wrote as the thread headline?

Wouldn't you agree, "These 40 cities may see housing prices decline, survey says" and including (3 in CT) is much more accurate than: "Top 40 possible housing declines (3 in CT)"?

Even the original headline, written by the people who conducted the survey is better then the threads headline "40 Cities in Danger of a Housing Crash This Year" and adding in your (3 in CT) is a more accurate.

And you do realize that gobankingrates.com is self described as a website to connect readers with financial services for loans. So to stay in business they need people to a) read their articles and b) click on their ads to secure loans.

They also only looked at 54 cities... there are 311 cities in the US with over 100,000 people, and they handpicked the cities they chose to "study". That is a terrible way to come up with a ranking.

Am pretty sure the article is talking about metro areas, not just the individual cities. Which makes it worse.......

It does not say that. It says these cities. Usually when something talks about metro areas, it would say Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk. Hartford would say Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford. This does not.

Again our small cities work against us in these rankings so I would take it with a grain of salt. Jay

I guess they are just picking on CT then. 50 states to pick on and they chose 3 cities from CT.

Might as well close the thread, it’s obvious they have an agenda.

Sorry for wasting your time.

I believe it. I read that the entire state of CT will be in a decline but I can't remember where I saw it. Maybe in the CT Post or online somewhere.
