I'm deciding on a possible move to CT, and looking at a variety of areas like Middletown, Stamford, Norwalk ect...and wondered if any one has some suggestions for a non denominational casual contemporary racially diverse church anywhere in CT? I haven't been having the best luck so far.

Thanks in advance.

Those 3 cities are very different. At least Middletown from the others. What’s the criteria?

I know New Haven has at least one church like that. United Church on the Green

I was born and raised in Stamford and went to Saint Leo's which is a Catholic Church. I now live in Trumbull. I have friends and a cousin that sing and perform on occasion at the First United Methodist Church off Long Ridge Road on Cross street. Even though it is not technically a non-denominational church it really feels like one. All faiths are welcome in the church. The church is truly diverse and the people are really nice every time I have been there. Go and check it out. If I still lived in Stamford I would go to this church even though I am Catholic.

Your locations in CT are really far apart.....well Middletown is. Will you be working in a certain location? BTW, Stamford is a really diverse, safe and great city.

You probably would do fine in most of the "Congregational" churches in those areas. The United Church on the Green in New Haven is one example (it is affiliated with the United Church of Christ [UCC]). The UCC is not exactly "non-denominational" but the individual churches are self-governing.

Sounds like you might like Grace Community Church which meets at Grace Farms in New Canaan.

There is Harvest Time Church Stamford. It is a smaller church thats basically a satellite campus of the larger Harvest Time Church in Greenwich. It is an Assemblies of God church though. They are currently meeting at Stamford High School at 10am on Sundays.

Middletown has a few that might be what you are looking for. Middletown has Catalyst Church offering non-traditional worshiping - https://catalyst.church/.

There is Victory Church in Middlefield - Victory Church.

First Church which is just on the outskirts of Wesleyan University......First Church | Middletown, Connecticut

I have not been to any of these, but they are always packed when I drive by.

Stamford? Is that new? Black Rock Congregational Church is very popular. I know a number of people that attend services there. Never heard they expanded to Stamford and their website does not say anything about Stamford services. Did I miss something? Jay

Walnut Hill. They have locations in Bethel, New Milford and Derby. We attended the Derby location (it was previously in Seymour). Amazing, amazing place that focuses less on strict religion and more on being a good human being, where everyone is welcome! Welcome to Walnut Hill Community Church - Walnut Hill Community Church
