But it could go to the east of Sound Medical, or across the street where that large expanse of wooded land is. I hope they don't clear that.
Wow - I hadn't heard about this plaza - what is going to go in there? Barnes and Noble?

Guilford for activity, schools, lifestyle, etc. Have you considered Branford? -- easy going, eclectic, close to New Haven, a variety of housing options, good value in homes. Also, watch home pricing in Guilford --- we are seeing a decline in prices and more inventory becoming available at your price point.

Here is a little more info on "Guilford Commons," the 28-acre retail site off exit 57, where the cell tower is, being developed by a group called DDR Guilford:

My husband and I have lived in Guilford and in Cheshire. The posts above are pretty much on the money for both towns. Don't kid yourself that there are only certain types of people in one town or the other. If you think of people as types, you will meet types and not people. IMHO Cheshire's superlatives: Music Education and Special Ed Services. Guilford: Shoreline and Art.

Some people think that Cheshire is a bad town with a bad reputation but it is quite the opposite. Cheshire is a very safe community. You may have heard about the tradgedy in July of 2007 but that was a random, freak accident and I feel totally safe from danger even though I live right down the street from the Petit house. I am greatly sorrowed by this event but, strange as it may seem, the community has grown closer because of it. Our town has come together (ie. Lights of Hope) in a way poeple who don't live in Cheshire don't understand. The town was literally breathtaking the night Lights of Hope took place.
Moving on to public school system, Cheshire has WONDERFUL schools. Anyone who says that Cheshire has rough schools has no idea what they are talking about because Norton Elemntary School, Dodd Middle School, and Cheshire High School are great schools. These are just the schools people in my family currently attend!! And while the houses are pretty pricey (especially in the Abrams Rd. area and Mountain Rd. area) they are high quality and all have spectacular neighborhoods and nice families. Some people commented on the snootiness of people and it is true, some families think they are awesome and rich and can do whatever they want. but Cheshire is great and anybody who says the community is torn apart or in pieces is deffinitly wrong. ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LIVE OR HASN'T LIVED IN CHESHIRE SHOULDN'T COMMENT ON WHAT THEY THINK CHESHIRE IS LIKE!!!! LEAVE IT TO THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
