This is a list I've compiled of the top towns to live in in CT with a population of 5000 or more.

Here's 100-91:

100. Norwalk (Fairfield County)
99. East Haven (New Haven County)
98. Middletown (Middlesex County)
97. Westbrook (Middlesex County)
96. Woodstock (Windham County)
95. Stratford (Fairfield County)
94. Litchfield (Litchfield County)
93. Harwinton (Litchfield County)
92. East Haddam (Middlesex County)
91. Plainville (Hartford County)

I'd really need to know which 100 towns made the list, the criteria used to pick the towns, and the weight given to each criteria in order to give an opinion...

Hmmm, I agree. Maybe you should narrow it down a bit...Top hundred towns for Empty-Nesters, Top hundred towns for families with school age kids, Top hundred towns for Retirees, etc. I know what I consider important in a place where I live has certainly changed as my position in life has changed. (there is no way I'd live in my town if I was a single, just out of college kid...but as a mom of young children it is OK.)

Just having population over 5000, doesn't make these towns comparable. For example, Middletown and East Haddam-one is a small city and the other is a semi-remote village.

There is only 169 towns in CT-are you saying 100 of them have more than 5000 residents? I'm suprised if that is actually true.

It's more than 100. There are 38 towns have fewer than 5,000 residents which means that 131 have 5,000 or more. The list below shows the number of towns with populations under 5,000 by county.

FAIRFIELD - 1 town (Sherman)
LITCHFIELD - 16 towns
HARTFORD - 1 town (Hartland)
MIDDLESEX - 3 towns (Chester, Deep River, Middlefield)
NEW HAVEN - 0 town
NEW LONDON - 8 towns
TOLLAND - 2 towns (Andover, Union)
WINDHAM - 7 towns

This list is just odd. How does Norwalk compare to Woodstock? I don't understand the comparisons on this list.
