Nesn in Fairfield?
Does Fairfield County get NESN with any cable providers? I just moved in with my boyfriend out in Fairfield and he has U-verse with AT&T. Their channel lineup states NESN HD on the Channel lineup, however when I type in that channel it doesn't work. I checked their website and it isn't listed there, which doesn't make much sense. Does anyone else get it via cable provider, or is the only way through satellite tv? It would be a travesty if I cannot watch any REAL baseball this year.....

No, per FCC regulations. You should be able to watch what are considered the local teams (to Fairfield County): Mets and Yankees.

The option you have is to get DirectTv or go with a season sports package. You can get NESN in a sports package through DirectTv if you want to watch pre and post game shows and other shows the channel offers. Keep in mind, any game that is live will be blacked out. If you want to watch the Red Sox, Celtics, or Bruins you will need to get the season package for each sport.
If you just want to watch the Sox, you can get the MLB extra innings package through DirectTv or most cable providers offer it. The package is $149 for the year I believe. Not sure if AT&T offers the package yet.
I live in Phoenix and I am a die hard Red Sox fan and I have the package and watch almost every game.

I've heard that Cablevision is offering a full credit for MLB extra innings if you're a new sign-up for their "triple play" package. The promo is only good for 12 months though.

DirectTV offers Yes plus every Fox sports channel and regional sports channel in the country. That is the one thing I miss about DirecTv.

I believe Danbury offers NESN. I could be wrong, but when I lived up there for a few months about 3 years ago, I did get it.

I checked comcast.com, and you appear to be correct. However, nesn.com says otherwise: NESN FAQ - Boston.com.

Uhh...why would Danbury get it?
That's about 3X closer to NY than it is to BOS...not to mention the similarities climate wise.
Fairfield, New Haven, and Litchfield are NY country.
It is nothing culturally, climate wise, like BOS.

I'm not sure why Danbury would get it - the vast majority of folks in the Danbury area go for NY teams, and the town is an hour from NYC.
