Hartford (HFD) 1904-1948
Windsor locks (BDL) 1949 - present

So that October 17th record happened at HFD.

Funny when Bradley International Airport (BDL) started developing in the 1950s, commercial jets moved their operations from Brainard as well as the weather station. By 1958 all commercial carriers had relocated to BDL.

Hey...could be worse! Were you caught walking in the drenching downpour with last night's thunderstorm? I was. Mostly along CT Route 372 in Cromwell and then to CT Route 217 into Middletown (barely). Bradley hardly got a drop. Hartford saw a measly .02". The Meriden (Markham Airport) station must have been closer, since they picked up .52". Now that I'd believe.

92 for Bradley Airport? DAMN! It only showed 90 the one time I checked in the afternoon. I want to say the normal for today is either 72 or 73 (it's 70 on the 30th).

Also, a Facebook memory showed up for me today. Apparently, Hartford was expected to see 91 two years ago. So I guess late summer/early fall heat isn't unusual here after all!

At midnight it started raining. Was very exciting since I haven't gotten more than 1" past 2 weeks! Then I go look at the gauge this morning... 0.08" Not even 1/10th of an inch. lol No TStorms here.

We went 9 full days without a drop in New Britain's south end or Berlin/Cromwell. "Our" Cromwell rain was a bit after 11 PM.

About 73 degrees now. Right about where it should be for September 24th.

Better today with the wind and drier air. I don't mind the 70s but I can't wait for the 60s. I don't want 1 month of Fall again!

How much you wanna bet once it turns cooler, we'll be cloudy and wet again. Jinx?

I knew summer would put up an extended fight this year after last year's beautiful, early autumn. I have a pic of me and the Mrs on September 24 last year decked out in fleece pullovers and rain parkas. Tomorrow I'll be wearing shorts once I'm off the clock. Hopefully it's seasonable by Columbus Day weekend.

Speaking of "Actual Fall"

Next weekend we begin our next taste test.

Still 10 days away but Euro and GFS agree the airmass aloft will be freezing. In fact it will be freezing down to Philly and that means cold days and nights next weekend. With the sun it will feel like Fall for sure.

This is showing the temps at 5000'.

And this is showing the anomaly. Well below normal for this time of year.
