It is behind the YMCA. There is some rough neighborhoods in that area. Not sure what your budget is or where you are working. If $800 is your budget with heat & hot water check out Rivers Edge Apartments gets you a studio if available. It is on the Wolcott side. You are close to Wal-Mart, movie theaters, grocery store, and highways.

I used to work a job off Hillside Ave. It's cheap for a reason. I would not recommend anyone live there. If you're interested in Waterbury most of the West end (town plot, NVCC, Post areas) are safe. So is most of the East End/ Meriden Rd. Bucks Hill toward Wolcott is decent and so is the South end. East Mountain is a fine area. There are still plenty of middle class working people that live in Waterbury but the bad areas are BAD, stay clear from most of the 06710 and 06702 zip codes.
