One of my favorite places in Guilford, Bishop's Orchards

Bishop's Orchards - Home Page

They have various "Pick your own" fruits from June-October and their orchards are beautiful.

HelloSam - This is great. There are a couple of things we have been wanting to do on the list. Have to check our calendar to see what we can fit in. Thanks so much, Jay

I was up in CT this past weekend and read through Yankee magazine and Connecticut magazine. there were so many listing for great things to do in the CT area. When I come back up in August I plan on taking my kids down to the Thomas the Train exhibit (Thomaston?) I saw advertised although I have a feeling it is going to sell out quickly. Seems like there is just no end of the things to do up there.

Default Devil's Hopyard

My family and I recently went camping at Devil's Hopyard. It's a smaller campground, but the hiking was great. There is a picnic area near the falls that you can just spend the day at. Gillette Castle is nearby so you can do both in one day. Two places that I would definitely recommend.

Thank you so much for this thread! We live in Port Jeff, NY, and I was going to post a thread asking what family activities we could find in CT; however, you made it a sticky, and I found all of my info in a matter of minutes. Looking forward to visiting...thanks again!

Saw an interesting article on the Hartford Business website this morning. Lincoln Financial is dedicating a new sculpture park at the river front in Hartford this week. It will feature 16 sculptures and is free to the public. Sounds interesting and I am anxious to see it. A link to the article is below. Jay
