Smile Historic Spots in New London

Downtown New London is undergoing a slow re-birth and some nice restaurants, cafes and galleries can be found as well as a handful of neat shops and historic places.

From the Hygenic Arts Park to the Shaw Mansion (Ct.Naval War Office-During Rev.War) to the Hempstead House (ca.1670) and then to the Nathan Hale Schoolhouse (ca.1770) and over the the Timothy Green printing studio (now site of the new state street grill) to Green Street with the Historic Richard Douglass House and Rev.Seabury House. There is lots to see and lots do and don't forget Capt.Scott's Lobster Dock on Hamilton Street for the best lobster rolls in the state!

I don't know if this has been suggested but im not going to read 6 pages,
Wadsworth falls in Middletown. A great spot for a hike, for fishing, mountain biking, and swimming.

Default Autumn is approaching!

With the beautiful Autumn Season approaching (as a past resident) I'm missing a quiet walk at Sleeping Giant. Just about the best respite for your soul!

Great lists, everyone! Great job!

I noticed most mentioned about Mystic Seaport and Mystic Aquarium but you guys forgot to mention Mystic Village which has great shops to browse through.

Also, there are two great places to go is Oyster Festival in two cities on different dates. They're in Norwalk and Milford, CT. One for Norwalk is usually every Fall. The link: Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival
One for Milford is usually every late Summer. The link: Annual Milford Oyster Festival Official Web Site When you guys want to go either or both, please plan ahead because of parking issues that you may want to use shuttle instead.
