I just found a story and interview on YouTube that explains the plight of Curley's Diner and its owner, Maria Aposporos. Curley's has been a downtown Stamford landmark for decades, and has seen the city through times of prosperity, decline and resurgence. It has been fighting for its existence for years.
Ms. Aposporos is a generous and courageous woman who went against the City of Stamford's Urban Redevelopment Commission and the corporate interests behind it who were trying to take her property--and won.
