Default Happening areas in Hartford??

Hi

So I have finally settled in moving to the University of Conn in Farmington in July...looking for areas to stay and have heard nice things about West Hartford...I am single, 32 and really looking for a nice young area with something in the way of a night life...I am also gonna be realistic...I have been in NYC for the past 10 yrs..so know that I am gonna be out of the city and don't expect like the city life. Problem is been hearing all these nasty things about how I will die of boredom there....somehow don't feel like it's being given a fair assesment...could you give me an idea of any areas I should be focusing on when it comes to finding an apartment.

Thank you ;-)

Either Downtown Hartford or West Hartford Center would be a more upbeat lifestyle and an easy commute to UConn in Farmington.

For Downtown Hartford, try Hartford 21, LV on the Park, the Lofts at Main and Temple to start (apartment buildings).

West Hartford Center will be more geared towards multi-family houses and maybe a condo unit here or there that you could rent. Craigslist works best. Also, the Lofts at Blue Back Square is a rental option. They are somewhat pricey (although on par w/Hartford 21 downtown) and the space you have is not utilized in the best manner.

West Hartford center is way more lively than downtown Hartford.

West Hartford is fine-much going on- but Hartford has far more cultural offerings, from the visual to the performing arts.
