This is what we get when we elect far left wing spineless politicians. The people of Connecticut have made their decision on the direction they want the state to go. This is the direction.

2021 Democrats do not believe in punishing crime. It is that simple. Why law-abiding people support pols who think that way is mind-boggling.

So, the channel 8 reporter has the chief of police on camera and she doesn't ask the million dollar question ?

What is your solution to teen crime ?

I also want to know how the Audi was stolen. Did the owner leave the keys in the car ? Leave the car running at the gas station ? etc

When it comes to violent crime, unless a first offense of any kind, the punishment for a youth should mirror the punishment of the adult violent criminal he/she will become. Youth should not be a means to avoid punishment.

Rehabilitation works so rarely, because criminals, be they young or old, are simply bad people w/o character. That is the core root cause.

The juvenile in the New Britain case isn't even being charged with manslaughter due to current juvenile laws. What a joke our laws are.

Sources told News 8 the juvenile in the New Britain case will be charged with first-degree assault, but not manslaughter because of limits in the law.

Great message to criminals: Find a kid to kill for you. You are not charged, and he is given a Andy Taylor/Opie Taylor style lecture-"Son, please be a good boy and do not murder again"! Liberalism 2021.

Make sure you don't confront these teens trying to steal your car as you risk getting shot..

Youths fire shots at woman in Glastonbury driveway early Friday, police say

A woman yelled at would-be car thieves in her Glastonbury driveway early Friday narrowly missed being shot, police said.

The woman was not injured, although “the rounds struck the front door area of the home where the resident was standing,” Lt. Corey Davis said. The two young suspects left in a dark getaway car being driven by a third person.

If caught, our legislature will propose the teens be sent to bed one night without supper.

This is how you get Bernie Goetz' incidents guys. NY did the same "soft on crime" routine, and only got tough during Rudy G/Bloomberg era. Koch & Dinkins ran city in a manner which created the environment where a Goetz was a matter of when, not if, incident. It need not be a subway, but we have seen countless examples in many states of 2A rights being used to overcome soft on crime mentalities.

I'd love to see stats on Ct gun sales, and my hunch is since Malloy began, they no doubt spiked, and likely are continuing under Lamont to do so. I dislike that reality, but it happens with a soft on crime government.

I hope everyone in this thread complaining (provided you are actually a resident) is contacting their respective elected officials. I finally did last week, as I was formerly part of the "complaining but not actually doing anything about it" camp. The only thing that will make change happen is the threat of a state senator or representative losing their job.

Oh please, Koch was the best thing that happened to the city. Are you kidding? Dinkins is the one who was the true incompetent here. Again, this myth that you need a politician to have the magic "R'" after their name as the only way to solve a problem is laughable. NYC might have had a lot of crime in the '80s, but it improved by leaps and bounds from the time Koch took office to the time he left. The city was absolutely better off after his 12-year reign than when it began. The people who really deserve most of the blame for the city's decline are his predecessors, Abe Beame and especially John Lindsay. Fittingly, our CT lawmakers look more and more like reincarnations of those two.
