What is “affordable” to you? A 3 BR house under $500K? $300K? Do you want a big yard or no land? There are many nice towns, too many to list. Are you looking for suburbs, rural or urban area? Near the ocean or the hills? Will you need to commute somewhere for work?

Hello, this company that I applied for a job at is in Norwalk I have been doing some research and CT is more expensive then MA. I rent a 2 bedroom apartment here for $850 per month. I'm willing to live in a town that's nice but the apartment prices need to be fairly reasonable.

Thanks

You can't really paint with such a broad stroke. I've met folks from Boston suburbs that thought Connecticut was such a bargain. Then there are Fairfield County folks relocating to Eastern Connecticut that never realized for how little properties could be purchased. Someone from Western Massachusetts would think that Connecticut is outrageous. See my point?

Default Affordable is a relative term in CT

If I were to guess I would say that you'll pay the most in Fairfield county, followed by some of the more select suburbs on the shore (Guilford Madison) and then areas like Avon and Simsbury.

I guess it all depends on what you need and want, and can afford. If you want to provide some more details on your need I'll try and help you narrow it down.
