Default Darien, CT Realtor Recommendations?

We are first time home buyers and interested in Darien, CT. Can anyone recommend an agent? We'd like someone who can focus on buyers (esp 1st time) and is good with a more modest budget (e.g. 1 million).

Thanks in advance!

Default Darien CT realtor

I would contact the top 2 to 3 companies in the area (ex. Coldwell Banker, William Pitt, Raveis) and speak to the manager. The manager will listen to your specific needs and recommend a REALTOR for you to speak to and interview.

I'm not so sure about this. From what I've seen as an agent working for two of the three companies listed above, you're more likely to get one of the manager's "favorite" agents.

Just personal preference, but I support independent and boutique agents/agencies. I used RealtyQuest in Darien for my search and purchase 3 yrs ago.

Just an opinion, but in general you should try to use an agent who really knows the area where you want to buy. Branford is beautiful, but quite a distance from Darien. PM me if you would like more information about our agent. We used her three times over a 10 year period.

Whatever else you decide, the key to getting best access is to pick a realty company with the most listings, and that is Kelley.

Since Kelley is a company, not a person, I am posting this in the thread, not a PM

I disagree.
Any agent that serves the area has access to the MLS and its listings. As far as an agent or agency having a monopoly on listings, it basically just means that they are adept at telling prospective sellers what they want to hear, not necessarily what is realistic for the market.
