Hello,

We are moving soon to New Fairfield and I wanted to get a cleaning service that will come in and do a major cleaning and disinfecting of the house before we move in...(I know I will end up cleaning again after they leave anyway but I wanted to have them come in and get the germs out before I do that..KWIM?) Does anyone know of a service that will do this "complete" cleaning before I move in? Thanks in advance!

Connecticut law says that your landlord has 30 days to either return your deposit or provide a written accounting of why some or all is not being returned (i.e., damage repairs). However, the 30 does not begin to run until you provide the landlord with your new mailing address in writing.

If the landlord fails to return (or provide accounting) in 30 days, he/she can be liable for double the amount. You will have to go to Small Claims court ($35 entry fee).
