Question Stamford/Greenwich/Danbury

How far are Stamford and Greenwich from each other driving? How far are these two towns from Danbury?

Greenwich is about 25 minutes from Stamford at most. Each of those towns are about 50 minutes from Danbury. They are not that far apart in miles, but there is no highway.

Thanks. No highway? Forgive my ignorance, I'm just not used to such a thing. This info is good to know. I may want to stop into Greenwich and Stamford when I visit Danbury.

I mean, no interstate. The state tried to built one back in the 1960s and 1970s from Danbury to Norwalk but it got shot down by enviromentalists. and people that thought it would 'ruin the character of their town'. It is just a regular road with 2-3 lanes in each direction with stop lights all the way down to Norwalk, where you would pick up I-95 to go south to Stamford.

To get to Greenwitch, I would go west on I-84 for 5 minutes into NY state to I-684 South to exit 2 (Westchester airport) and take some regular roads into town.

OH, OKay that makes sense. When is "tourist season" in these towns?

I know that. That's why I put the phrase in quotation marks. But in other parts of New England that are considered rural (i.e. New Hampshire) there is a "tourist season" where they get a lot of visitors during some peak time in the year. Does anything similar happen in these towns I asked about above?

The towns along the shore east of 91 tend to get more of the tourist traffic and seasonal residents than those like Greenwich and Stamford. These town are almost an extension of NYC.
