Default Are the lake communities in CT diverse?

My husband and I live in NJ and are considering buying a small lake home on Candlewood Lake. We are trying to narrow it down to the best community for our needs as well as it having diversity.

I am african-american, my hubby is caucasian and we have a 3 year old and one on the way. We want a fun loving community where are kids can play in a welcoming a safe enviroment.

Does anyone have any recomendations?

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't say the lake communities are diverse per se, but CT overall is pretty open so I don't think you would have a problem. Candlewood lake is beautiful, i've been there a few times, but saw mostly white families. I've also spent some time on amston lake and lake terremungus (sp) in marlbourough - again mostly white. perhaps someone on here who actually lives on these lakes can comment....
