Anytime. I have a feeling at least you are smart enough to make an educated decision and if bpt isn't for you, there are plenty of other nice areas in the state - good luck

Thanks again. I think I was looking for someone to say, move to this zip code, or this area, or this street. You know?

I find that everyones perspectives are different on areas so I wouldn't recommend a specific street. I think driving around will give you a good feel for the area and if its the right place for you. Stick to the fairfield line. Also, if you do find a neighborhood you like you can check with local PD for more statistics if you are really concerned

Look~ if you have any friends with access to a police scanner you will be able to hear police activity~Of Course~just listen!!!! Never get on and ask what they are doing!!! tee hee~ anyway

Bpt police have an interesting thing they do. They number their calls and files per day every day starting at 12:00 am with file #001. We've heard (on any given day ) the file #s get up into the mid 300's, but also heard it stay in the mid low 200's. We've heard calls from all over the city. The point being no one is going to be able to tell you go to this street or this zip code within the city lines. Wish we could~ but sorry ~no....I'm sure the same is true for any area that can be called "city". Volume of population tight together brings activity good and bad. The less dense ~ the safer in general. Now there are always again exceptions to every rule, I'm sure you heard about the disaster in Cheshire last year...nuff said...about density.

As for desperate housewifes in your face neighbors - have you really ever seen that anywhere except on tv?

I think a lot of CT has this. Most of lower Fairfield can get very desperate housewifey, as can towns like Glastonbury, Avon, etc. Even western NH County and northern FFLD to an extent like Southbury, Newtown, Monroe. Heck - the name of a private road in Oxford was recently changed from Gary Place to Wisteria Lane! LOL

But Bridgeport as people here have suggested? No way...

Don't be so hasty with that decision kid. Reason180 is hard at work researching the perfect neighborhood for me in Bridgeport, so i can escape the horrors of this skeeter infested, toxic dump of a town that i live in.
Perhaps i'll share the details of her report with you, although i'm getting worried, as it is taking a while for this report to be completed.

Thanks! I'd love to be shown the "Wisteria Lane" of Bridgeport. The thought of having to live in horrific Stratford is scary - especially with all of those man-eating mosquitoes that no other town has!!
