35.79 for Vernon effective late 2006
My real estate taxes here in Vernon have increased 12% in 2007 & 2008- for 24% over the 2001 assessment- the mill rate as shown was used on the October real estate assessment -when prices peaked here.
Bad timing- soaring energy costs- rapidly rising food prices- this will only slow the economy further here
I know South Windsor did the same.

Thanks guys, we bought a new car when we arrived for the hubby for work and wondered what the taxes will be on it, does anyone know when the bill for car tax comes out?

I received my Vernon Tax bill around the beginning of July alt
you will not receive one till next July- you will be taxed on the grand list October 2008- you will not have to pay till July 31st next year---Your bill will come July 1st 2009
still up for coffee by the way??? You can relax on that bill.....

That right- your car was not on the GL October 2007-
It will be listed October 2008- and you will receive your first bill next July- hope you are enjoying Vernon by the way--- the weather has not been too bad- heating up tho
Have you had dinner at the 'Lotus' yet here in town??

Loving CT so far, the weather actually not as bad as I thought it would be, the place reminds me of home (Scotland).
Haven't tried the 'Lotus' yet still finding our feet.

Just don't forget that you will be taxed from the day you owned the car - even if it doesn't make it on the list this go around. That means next year's bill will include proration for this current year. - - save up
