Default Which train station has worse parking: New Haven or Stamford?

I live in Naugatuck and in a few weeks I'm taking Acela down to DC and the only stations they stop at are New Haven and Stamford. I'm not familiar with either since I normally go out of closer stops when I take the train to NYC. Is anyone familiar with them and have a preference? I would be leaving 7 AM or so on a weekday morning.

I can tell you that parking at Union Station in New Haven is normally available (should be in Stamford as well). If you were taking a later train (after 9:00 AM) you might have problems at the station. Jay

I would stick with New Haven because traffic to Stamford at 7am on a weekday would be horrible. From Naugatuck you can take back roads.

Thanks. Sounds like New Haven will work out then. I'm always paranoid about parking at commuter stations on weekdays, although it's true that I'm usually not leaving that early.

So a follow-up. New Haven was fine. I pulled in around 6:30 AM and there was plenty of space. Pricey though: $31 for Fri AM -> Sun PM.

OTOH, that extra hour on the train from Stamford to New Haven was not that fun on the way home. In that time I could have driven home.
