I was born Rose Mary Jacobs on February 18, 1967 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. I weighed in at 6 lbs 14 oz at 5:44 PM. The doctor’s name was Norman H. Higgins. My birth mother was 26 years old when she had me, average build, 5’3”, about 130 lbs, long dark wavy hair, blue eyes & French decent. My b-mom had 5 children ahead of me and I just recently found out at my pre-search interview with DCF in Hartford, CT (7/3/08) that the ratio is 2 sisters and 3 brothers. All of them, except my oldest sister, Katherine, were also adopted out. The 3 brothers (Michael born 11/26/1958, Arthur born 5/13/1960 and Edward born 2/19/1962) went to one family and the younger of the 2 sisters (Lynn born 7/5/1964) went to another family, all of whom were adopted through Groton Probate Court on 11/5/1962. Katherine, born 12/5/1957 would be 51 this year (2008), went to foster care in Maine but eventually returned to live with our mother. The only information I have on my father is that his name is James and he was either Black, mixed or possibly Portuguese. My b-father is not my siblings father. Until recently, I have believed that Jacobs was my step-father’s name, however, I now believe that it was my b-father’s last name, although I am not 100 % sure of that. My b-mother’s then husband had claimed me as his own until they separated/divorced.

If anyone thinks this info sounds familiar to them, please write back & contact me.

Thanks a whole bunch!!!!

Talking Family Found 8/12/08!

Hi there . . . thanks for asking about my search. I actually found my mother and all my siblings last summer (8/12/08). My mother & 2 sisters live in Missouri, my 3 brothers live in Kentucky, and my other sister lives in Indiana. In Oct., I went out to MO & reunited with my mother and 1 of my sisters. We all fell in love with each other and have been in contact with each other ever since on a weekly basis. We're planning a big reunion in June for all of the siblings & our mother. I can't wait! Finding my family has given me a new lease on life and has given me a sense of boldness and a feeling of security that I've never had.

Thank you for you posts and asking about my status. I don't know if either of you is searching for family members, but I hope you have as much sweet success as I have.

God bless,
RoseGee40

I'm happy to hear you had such a positive outcome! Have you found any further information on your father as well?
