Default West Haven/Milford Beaches

I have to say the West Shore Beach area of West Haven is one of the nicest beaches in Connecticut. This community does not get the respect it deserves.

Also Milford has some beautiful beaches as well in Woodmont and Silver Sands.

Connecticut has many beautiful beaches. Many of them are unknown by its own residents. If you haven't experienced them take a trip and check them out.

Don't overlook Bridgeport's Harbor Park either. It has always been very clean and relatively uncrowded each time I visited. The hardest part is driving through the rundown industrial area between I-95 and Harbor Park. Don't let that dissuade you. It's worth the trip.

Milford beaches are nice? Are you serious? Have you at all been following the news because a young girl got stuck with a hypodermic needle yesterday at a Milford beach, and the town is now raking the sand in case there are any others. Four have been found already, sorry but I'll stick to the clean beaches of Eastern CT.

vanacar65 is on a distinguished road
Silver Sands is quite and for a ct beach its okay. The water is dirty and very rocky. Hyperdermic needles have been washing up on shore.

Ehh, their beaches are nothing special, to be honest. There is trash everywhere, the beaches can be rocky and I've heard some reports of sand fleas.

I love going to the West Haven beaches with my kids. We walk along the sidewalks along the oceans edge and their are many jettis to play on. The beach isn't huge but its great for a day trip...
