I'm in the industry and that's a bit of malarky. Many people get alarms for the simplest of reasons: fire protection (huge), insurance discounts, and lastly invasion protection.

My company just installed a GSM system for that very reason, but more times than not phone lines are great.

OP,

I'm not too sure who is in that area, but ADT and the other national security retailers are generally overpriced on monitoring and they tend to do shoddy work (at least in my area, we've had to completely redo things they've done wrong). I'd recommend asking around to local merchants and get refferals that way, worth a shot.
