Stratford's 2006 personal crime index was ranked a 37 on Forbe's Best Places to Live, below the average Forbes community (average being 45). Bridgeport's was 280 (more than 6x the average) and Hartford's was 381 (more than 8x the average).
If that doesn't settle this dispute, then I give up.

Quite frankly, I don't even know why you bother, though I'm sure your intentions are honorable. If the only way someone can feel good about their own town is by running down a neighboring one, I can only shake my head in disbelief. Besides, I'm too busy looking for stuff to appreciate in this great state, which is surprisingly easy to find once you start thinking that way.

Reason - you seem to have some personal gripe again stratford for some odd reason and your posts are becoming a bit ridiculous. I'm the first one to defend living in cities if people are given the correct information - facts and safest locations within whatever city they are asking about be it Bridgeport, Hartford or New Haven. You continually praise Bridgeport and then continually bash stratford - a town that CLEARLY has a lot less crime than Bridgeport does. Next time you post an article about a crime in Stratford, how about you scan the news in brideport for the same week and post those as well? Or would that make too much sense?

You're correct, drug abuse is a big problem in Stratford.
All those "junkies" need their medicine on a daily basis.

And what part of my post made you assume I was referring to only one person? I'd rather speak for myself, anyhow. Do let me know if you ever find me running down another town, neighboring or otherwise.

You constantly bash BPT! Stamford has plenty of dirt...
|
Interesting how you incorrectly label everyone as a "Bridgeport Basher".

Not only did 17 year old Quaymon Crosby survive being shot in his buttocks, he was fully recovered only 7 days later, at which time he robbed a Stratford resident of a cell phone and fired a gun at the robbery victim. The location of Mr. Crosby's crime was McGrath Ct., which is quite close to where Mr. Crosby had been shot 7 days prior.
Mr. Crosby was charged with the following:
Criminal use of a firearm, 1st degree robbery, 1st degree reckless endangerment, unlawful discharge of a firearm, 5th degree larceny, and carrying a pistol without a permit.
Mr. Crosby's address is listed as 4th Street in Bridgeport, Ct.
