Is Litchfield More A Part of the NYC Tri State Region or New England?
Continuing our series, I figured I'd ask about Litchfield County.
Do you feel it has more of a Tri-State or New England feel?
I say it has more of a Tri-State feel.
Why?
-It is closer to NYC than Boston
-It is near FF county and Westchester for possible long commuters
-Many NYers and FFers have 2nd homes there
Additionally wikipedia states this county is listed as part of the NY tri state region and most towns offer ALL NY sports and some news stations.
It may have a rural feel...but so does neighboring Dutchess County, NY.

Whoa....9 to 1 NE over Tri State?
Why?
Just because a place is rural does not make it NE over tri-state.
Duchess County, NY is rural..yet that is not considered NE.

Duchess County isn't considered NE because it simply isn't part of New England. New England is comprised of six states: ME, VT, NH (sometimes differentiated as northern), MA, RI and CT. Simple as that.
A good friend from Vermont doesn't feel Hartford people are New England-like at all, so I guess it depends where you're from and what you're used to.

just because a place is closer to New york than Boston and provides New York sports stations does not necissarily make it more like New York. And, as FrenchHorn7 noted, Westchester will never be considered New England because it is not in New England. There are plenty of towns throughout Connecticut that provide New York sports stations that are pretty clearly much more a part of New England than New York.
I personally like New York and all, but I don't think Litchfield is legitimately more a part of tri state than NE.

you are not going to be able to commute every day to fairfield county, too far. Not close to boston either, kind of in the sticks. Beatiful though

Litchfield is in CT. CT is a New England State. NY is not a New England state, and never was. No matter how much it feels like it to anyone.
