To all you people who answered my question about Willimantic, Connecticut, you are awesome. Thank you so much for all the information, as we will be visiting 9-25-08 through 10-02-08. We don't have children, and my husband and I are in our 50's, we were looking for a place to rent not too far from his possible job transfer to Willimantic, Connecticut, and were wondering about the safety and prosperity of the town. We are looking forward to being a tourist, as we are from Florida, the original tourist state. Thanks again.

Willimantic can be edgy, but interesting.

Eastern CT has many nice small towns near Willimantic; Lebanon, Coventry & Columbia.
