Thats really helpful
I don't have the school level reports, but a quick look at town scores show that elementary wide Torrington actually has better scores from grades 3-6. Grades 7 and 8 it flips and Naugatuck has slightly better scores. Both districts are below the 20 students per teacher that most like to see. Both districts are below the state averages however.

Here is the link by school (a little more "helpful" perhaps...)

Yes more helpful and actually shows that torringtons scores at east school are much higher that those at maple hill school so your comment about torrington clearly isn't based on any factual information. To the OP - based on the profiles your best bet is torrington.

I've lived in Torrington and moved BECAUSE of schools. So it was based on first hand experience...

It didn't answer the OP's question though. I think now they probably have the information they need to make the decision that is best for them.

I find when making decisions that affect my children I dont always find graphs and state scores all that helpful sometimes it's better talking to parents who have actually dealt with the town and schools. I would never base a decision alone on some scores.
Anyhow, OP if you want more info on my bad experience with Torrington, please feel free to DM me and I'd be glad to elaborate in private!!

You are correct on that.
Perhaps next time you should say something like...."I lived in Torrington and moved because of the schools" instead of saying "All I know is I wouldn't go with Torrington". Then this thread would have ended in 2 posts instead of 8!

Speaking of potshots...
Anyway, I'd personally stick with Naugatuck because I think the town has more to offer than Torrington. Torrington is a bit remote and quieter, while Naugatuck has a little more going on. I know people who have graduated from Torrington High and didn't have great things to say. I also believe Naugatuck High is a little better with some excellent foreign programs. Good luck
