Default Moving near Wilton- please help

Hello-
We are moving from a quaint river town in NY to somewhere in CT to be closer to my husband's job in Wilton. I am a teacher so I can be anywhere really. We are looking for a town as close as possible and here is what we want ...
- nice village to walk around/shop/eat
- community feel
- funky/liberal vibe
- family friendly (we have two boys under 5)

We are hoping to be 40 minutes or less and spend less than $500K for a 3/4 bedroom. Any ideas/recos/advice are appreciated! Thanks!

The first place to come to mind is Bethel. According to the GFC MLS, there are 119 single-family properties in Bethel with 87 of them being under $500,000 (82 have at least 3 bedrooms).

Another option is Ridgefield. There are 261 single-family properties in Ridgefield with 28 of them being under $500,000 (20 have at least 3 bedrooms).
