Thanks to the wonders of PARTIAL-deregulation.

President Clinton left office in January, 2001. The loans currently in default were made after this. By the way, it was rare to have non-income verification and 100-percent financing back then.
As one of the Cheshire town officials said to me while working the polls in November, 2006, "We Republicans have found a way to get more American to own homes - something the Democrats couldn't do. Home ownership is almost 70 percent."
...that was November 2006...The percentage of home ownership is now at its lowest point in over 20 years.

The games that both parties are playing with our money is sickening. Interesting how this meltdown is happening a month before the election...

You are correct. As is the case with most elections, it comes down to the lesser of two evils. How sad...

Michigan has been doing nothing and right now it's almost as if it is too little too late!!!
That's why so many are leaving.

In some ways, I'm glad I can't vote in this country yet. At the risk of oversimplifying, it seems (to me) a choice between an honorable but out-of-touch man who's resorting to gimmicks so he can win at any cost and a more balanced, cerebral person who may or may not be equipped to tackle the massive problems that lie ahead. Sometimes I wonder if they both now wish they had chosen a different election to run for President.
Good luck in the polling booth !

I heard one political analyst suggest that the Republicans "throw" this election and try again in four years since things are such a mess. It's easy to screw things up over 8 years, but it is very difficult to fix them in just 4.

Michigan at least is now doing something ...anything they try is at least trying... trying to attract business... CT is doing nothing constructive to bring business here ... no, I do not want CT to mirror Michigan's economy... but at least they are now trying... The DECD, Rell, and all of the legislature needs to make it a top priority to bring commerce to CT..we are draining our labor supply to other states.

Government is more powerful at screwing up things than they are at fixing things.
