Uconn is right- here in Vernon, the Rockville section- has been totally preserved with churches, homes and public buildings- the historic district here is beautiful- the same holds true for Manchester-

Town and urban planning in most of greater Hartford has done a great job of preserving its architectural heritage- its in Hartford where they have been late to learn.

Sounds like I'll still have a lot of nice places in Central CT to do photo tours of when I get up there in 2009.

Old Wethersfield is beautiful, especially this time of year when they have their annual fall scarecrow contest. When my children were younger, I used to take them trick-or-treating there so I can have a peak inside the old houses.

The Historical Society does tours of 3 of the older homes, Silas Deane, the Webb house and another I can't remember off hand, check them out sometime. Interesting info about the house, area and former occupants!
