Uconn is right- here in Vernon, the Rockville section- has been totally preserved with churches, homes and public buildings- the historic district here is beautiful- the same holds true for Manchester-
Town and urban planning in most of greater Hartford has done a great job of preserving its architectural heritage- its in Hartford where they have been late to learn.

Old Wethersfield is beautiful, especially this time of year when they have their annual fall scarecrow contest. When my children were younger, I used to take them trick-or-treating there so I can have a peak inside the old houses. |

The Historical Society does tours of 3 of the older homes, Silas Deane, the Webb house and another I can't remember off hand, check them out sometime. Interesting info about the house, area and former occupants! |
