Default Chinatown Bus to NYC

I am trying to go to NYC tomorrow, and was wondering if anyone could tell me about the Chinatown bus. Is there a place to leave your car there? Is it safe? Am i better off just paying an extra 30 dollars to catch the Peterpan bus from Farmington since there is parking there?

Are there any other options for getting into the 'city'? Driving to New Haven to catch the train is not an option for me.

Thanks

Yeah, the Chinatown buses are pretty cool. You can save a fortune by riding them, and there are enough Chinatown bus lines that you usually can find a convenient departure time.

I have heard that nowadays they are pretty reputable, but if you are worried at all you can try megabus or boltbus, run by the major bus companies in response to the chinatown buses.

Yeah there are plenty of other options. Megabus, Bolt Bus, Vamoose, DC2NY, to name a few. The Chinatown buses have competition from upstarts that cater to the new non-Chinese clientele. Check out BusJunction.

I hear a lot of non-Chinese have caught on to riding the Chinatown buses though as well.
