The Crime rate information at CD is for Vernon & Rockville- the two are not removed in the statistics. As far as 'gangs' I know Police officers on the town council- there are no gangs in town.

I actually live on the fringe of the Rockville area- have never had or heard of a break in- have never had anything stolen from my rear deck- and left my doors open at night. I have been here for over 16 years. I cam easily point to shady areas Of even the most upscale towns like West Hartford.

The crime rate again in Vernon is 130- the national average is 321- yes indeed a big crime wave here.
West Hartford's crime rate per city data is 168 by the way. I guess all us lowlifes here in Rockville need bars on our windows

I have ridden through the rockville area and it looks pretty rough. Also I have talked to people growing up there who tend to say the same thing that it is a rough area. But since you have been there so long you perspective is probably more accurate but it is strange that it differs so much from what I have heard.

Also look at the sex offender registry, rockville has about 30 offenders around the area.

Every town & city has sex offenders as well as 'rougher sections'- frankly at this point your main goal here is to be on a 'Witch Hunt' and to be an agent provocateur on this forum against Vernon, which is a nice town to live- I do hope the Moderator calls this for what it is - trolling.

I don't think the poster is singling out Vernon as they listed other towns which they would not recommend. If anything, they're only responding to your comments which are specific to Vernon and not the other towns they mentioned- hardly a defintion of a troll.

Really? I disagree with you totally- the poster here thus far has shown a negative view directed at Vernon- and also other towns like Manchester & East Hartford- frankly I question your ability to make a judgment either way

You extol the virtues of Groton- yet agree with the poster about Vernon after I made statistical comparisons with crime rates between Vernon & West Hartford- you are biased yourself.

Just to be fair, every town and city does not have rougher sections. I know it was important to us to choose a town without them. Furthermore, not every town and city has sex offenders, either. I just checked several towns that came up zero. Thirty sex offenders is incredibly high.

Well, I am glad you have found a place to live that is so 'pure'- good luck!
However I look at the overall crime rate as per CD- Vernon at 130 is less then half the national age- that being so sometimes statistics either way can not be totally empirically based- a town may not have actual sex offenders 'registered' but upscale towns sometimes the evidence of this is hidden.

Do not judge always a book by its cover, you may be surprised what you find below the 'pristine surface'.

Thank you, it's been over 12 years here, and we do find it "pristine".

Good for you- I imagine being sheltered from the underlings of life must be a real escape' from the realities of the real world-sort of like living in a gated community- I never liked the Stepford Wives anyway- best of luck!

I'm not sure why you are getting so worked up. People are just giving their opinions, which is what this forum is for. There is no reason for you to be rude to posters.
