It will be more than Ansonia but less than Shelton and probably about the same as Milford. The benifits are that you will be closer to Stamford and have the availability of Rte 15, I-95 and a train should you need it. It also has beaches and the Housatonic which Milford offers as well.
Exclude Seymour from that list because the town is no longer cheap. Homes there start around $300k with a fixer upper going for about $250k.

Default Areas of Derby, Ansonia

How is the N. Main Street area of Ansonia? particularly North State Street, or Forest ave, by Colony Park. Is it safe, nice, ghetto? Also, how is the area of Ansonia by Nolan Field (Wakelee Ave).?....I have been through the Nolan Field area and could'nt tell.

How is Derby? I know it is going under redevelopment to the downtown area, but how is Hawthorne Ave area? or specifically Mt. Pleasant St, High St area?

Lastly, How are Ansonia and Derby's schools? It seems Ansonia's are better...but I would like to hear from anyone. It seems to be Ansonia's schools has more diversity than Derby.

AllCT is on a distinguished road
Ive been through most of the areas you have mentioned and you should be fine. Ansonia, Derby and Seymour are all going through renovations to various degrees. The "Valley" as it is called has never been known for their schools historically, HOWEVER,(before anyone jumps on me) it has seemed to have gotten better. The towns do appeal to me though I can't figure out why? You seem fixed on those towns so I won't try and talk you out of them as I know you can get a great deal on homes in that area. Do yourself a favor and drive around Stratford and try Shelton as well along the Housatonic.

I know what you mean. Great potential and nice looking towns. I would agree that Stratford would be worth a look.
