Default Anyone know about glastonbury crossings apartments in East hartford?

Is the area nice? I am looking at Glastonbury crossing apartments for my gf and myself to reside at. East Hartford has a negative image but I have heard this area is nice. Is this true? Thank You!

It really depends on what you are looking for. There isn't a ton to do in that area, although the center of glastonbury would only be a few minutes away and there are a few fast food type places along main street. A plus would be easy highway access to route 2. This area isn't crime central by any means, but there are nicer complexes out there. It borders rentscheler field to the north so you still have the high fencing that gives that section of brewer street a gritty look. Neighborhoods surrounding the complex are modest, working class. I would suggest a drive around the area so you can get a feel for it and see what you like or don't like. Most crime in EH is concentrated along the northern section of main street and burnside avenue and a few select establishments in those areas in case you are looking at other areas for rentals in EH.

I am not looking to the northern sections, as i've heard and seen they are pretty run down/crime happy. I am going there this weekend, so I will get a better look of the area. Thank you for your response! Any suggestions for apartments around the area then, that are going for around 70o a month one bed?

Thats a tough price point to match. Unfortunately I don't know of any. Have you tried craigs list? there might be someone renting a condo in EH or in a surrounding area for around that price. My wife use to pay $650 for a small condo in glastonbury some years ago so it is possible!

Thanks again sir. I have heard that the area around those apartments is surrounded by low income housing projects. I will still check out the area, I am alright living in an area like that, I just want my gf to feel safe and be able to run outside by herself.

Well, i wouldn't say it's "surrounded"....there is a difference between people who make low incomes and live in small homes vs low income housing projects. You'll find the area as I noted before to be modest with small homes, I would guess lower income families. good luck!

There is a publis housing project to the west of this complex and there are a number of duplexes to the east. I believe that these are privately owned. Yes, this is a modest area but hardly low income in the conventual terms. Jay

I believe the duplexes to the east are privately owned, not public housing. Jay

Well I do see that in new britain, greenview apartments look fairly nice and I know the area a lot better then east hartford. Another question I would have is about Brendon Gold LLC apartments, off main street, over a street from Glastonbury Crossings. I checked out this area as well, seemed slightly "better" even though only one street over, then Glastonbury Crossings area. Correct? Thank you for all your help.
