Does anyone know if there is pay-per-day parking at Old Greenwich, Riverside, Cos Cob, Stamford, or Noroton Heights train stations?
If so, how much per day, and what time on weekday mornings do the spots usually fill up?

Also, how long is the waiting list for permits at these stations?

thanks

In Noroton Heights I believe you go to the liquor store across the street to get a pass to park. It is a couple of dollars (I think $3 per day). Not sure about waiting lists. Check with the town. Jay

Go to the main station in Greenwich if you can. Bring quarters. It's cheap.

There's a nice big garage in Stamford and I think I paid $6 or $8 a day last time I parked there.

There are spaces at OG, CC, and Riverside to park daily. You are given a ticket by a traffic cop, and you mail it in within 2 weeks. It is $5/daily. Riverside has always had a long waiting list, Cos Cob and OG are the easiest. I was never on a waiting list for either, and from what I have seen in the last couple of months, both have a lot of open parking.

Greenwich has a long list, and the train schedule is better. The express trains earlier than the 5:10 from the city now stop in Greenwich before continuing to Stamford. You can park in the metered parking, but you can't always get a place, and you need at least 8 quarters for the whole day. Some of the meters are not functional, and that is frustrating.

Stamford parking is not easy, and can be expensive. Once everything is finished for RBS, it should be much better.

It used to be in CC and OG that parking was a little over $100 for the year. In Stamford, it was $40/month. I have not commuted for 12 years, so I don't know the current prices.

Make sure you know the rules before you park. We just moved to Fairfield and you can park their after the morning commute is over. I forget the exact time but I believe after 9 AM. The parking prior to this is reserved for monthly parking and if you park there early in the morning you will get a hefty fine. They also put a ticket on your window and you mail it in and pay $6. I use Amtrak and park in Stamford which cost $8 for daily parking.

That's not entirely true... There are daily spots available in the main lot (for $6/day), as well as a 'secondary' lot off of Unquwa (I think). You can also go to the Knights of Columbus a little bit up the street from the station ($4/day), but that fills up by 6:40 or so.
