You will probably have to stay in neighboring Norwalk. There is an Homestead Extended Stay Hotel on Main Avenue there. Here is a link:

Extended Stay, Corporate Relocation and Long Term Hotels - Homestead Studio Suites Hotels

I am not sure of any others in Norwalk. You may also look into what is in Stamford as well. Good luck, Jay

Marriott has a luxury hotel with suites in Trumbull, not sure if this would interest you:

Shelton has a number of suite-style hotels. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites (all suite style), Homestead Suites, Homewood Suites and the Residence Inn by Marriott. All are very nice. Holiday Inn is great because it includes breakfast each morning. We stayed there for a wedding this past summer and the rooms have a sofa bed in addition to the other two beds. Also had wi-fi (great for work) and pillow-top mattresses. It is about 15 minutes from Fairfield in a less congested, safe suburban area.

Shelton definitely has the largest # of extended stays in the county. For you, i'd recommend a business hotel in Stamford over the Trumbull Marriott, which is a very popular business hotel that will cost a leisure traveler an arm and a leg. The $$$$ difference between the Stamford Marriott/Sheraton/Courtyard Stamford/Holiday Crown Stamford, etc. won't be large enough to make the trip to Trumbull worthwhile, IMO. The trip to Shelton would be worthwhile for selection and value, though.

What about all those hotels that popped up on Route 7 in Norwalk, CT over the last decade or so?

Good point. I forgot about those hotels. I think there are 4 in a cluster just north of the parkway by the Merritt 7 complexes.

Homestead Suites, which I suggested above, is one of these four hotels. The others are regular hotels which the OP was not looking for.

The hotels in Shelton are a good suggestion too, but it further from Westport than the Norwalk hotels are. Jay
