Default Transportation From Groton to New York/NJ

Hey all,

Does anyone know of how to get to New York/NJ from Groton, CT. I checked Amtrak rates from New London, CT to Newark, NJ and to Penn Station, NYC. Rates for round trip are around $100.

Does anyone know of other ways to get to NYC/NJ if not traveling the whole way by car?

Help is appreciated.

TS

It's less expensive to drive to New Haven and park there, and then take Metro North.

Thanks for that information.

The round trip rate (peak) from New Haven to Penn Station is about $35 which is not bad compared to the Amtrak rate.

Metro North does not go to Penn Station from New Haven. It goes to Grand Central Terminal. Amtrak goes to Penn station but I do not think you can buy a ticket in New Haven to New York due to a "no-compete" clause. Also, I think a round trip ticket is $41 peak to New York from New Haven.

Another option would be taking a bus. Jay
