Default Hartford 21 - corporate housing

Hi - My family & I have the option of staying at either the Hartford 21 or 55 on the Park for temporary housing for about two months. My first question is: Are these apts. in safe enough areas for a family with 2 young children? If so, which place would be best? Also, does anyone know of any other temporary/corporate housing in the West Hartford/Farmington area?

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Both Hartford 21 and 55 on the Park are very nice newer apartment buildings that are among the best in the state. Hartford 21 is a highrise, 55 is a midrise building. Both are located right downtown and the area is generally safe. 55 is located over looking Bushnell Park which is beautiful. Hartford 21 is just 2 blocks up from there. The only problem with downtown Hartford is that there is not a lot of shopping. You will have to travel to the nearby suburbs for groceries and major shopping. There are however great restaurants and entertainment (XL Center, Bushnell Theater, Hartford Stage, Theaterworks, museums, etc.). Like any urban area, downtown has limited options for small children. Physical activity will be limited with trips to Bushnell Park. If your children are use to this or for a limited time, this might be fine. I hope this helps. Jay

I've helped a few people through corporate relocation that have stayed temporarily at Hartford 21. It's worked out well. It's a beautiful, new building with concierge service, valet parking, etc. As Jay mentioned, the downtown area is fairly urban, but Bushnell Park is literally a 2 block walk from the building. 55 on the Park would offer a much similar lifestyle.

The only other corporate housing I know of is the Homewood Suites in Farmington. http://homewoodsuites1.hilton.com/en_US/hw/hotel/HFDFMHW-Homewood-Suites-by-Hilton-Hartford-Farmington-Connecticut/index.do It's a little more hotel-y than apartment style and located by the UConn Health Center in Farmington.

I'll second Jay's information.

Go with Hartford 21, it is impressive and the state has nothing like it outside of Stamford maybe.
