this has actually been in the works for a while. i remember seeing an article on it at the end of last year/beg of this year. can't seem to find it now but specifically remember the article stating something about a very high-tech design that would make the building more energy efficient. that may explain the solar panels and that wall of 'pipes' extending out on one side.

This thread started end of last year.

The project is underway, the old Channel 3 studio (don't get me started on Mayor Gangbanger dropping the ball on that one. ) has been raised and construction is planned on schedule.

Yes, the building is going to be what could be considered "eco" and then some.
