I've been up for two days straight and my work is 99% done so a few pictures as promised.

*Note: I can't post a lot of pictures due to disclosure agreements etc and they don't want a lot of "inside" pics out on the web until the reveal and airing of the show. Understandable. In fact, I really wasn't supposed to be taking any pics inside but I got some "inside" approval. So what you see is the best I can post right now.

First day of registration where you sign 14 forms, agreements etc etc and get your site education. 2am:

Same place with some business partners.

They basically took over Voluntown. The main street was shut down, vehicles and construction equipment EVERYWHERE. State DPH camped out, fire department, big rigs, campers, busses, tents, caterers, salvation army disaster trucks feeding folks etc etc. FREAKIN NUTS!

This is about 1/2 mile from the house! For about 600' around the house it's lit up and bright as daylight.

1/4 mile the OTHER direction from the house.

Walking up to the house:

Paving the driveway while 100 other things are going on like laying sod, landscaping, installing exterior stone veneer etc etc

Tents on the side of the property with food, drinks, sponsor info etc

About 1/4 mile away from the house behind the church where the "church scene" you'll see on the show was shot. (Which BTW they repainted the church, landscaped it and paved the lot!) They had the main tent set up for meals and breaks

THE "bus":

The rear of the house. All kinds of commotion happening inside and behind the wrapping:
http://www.ctchristians.com/makeover/Picture-029.jpg (broken link)

The side of the house and one of MANY propane trucks. The amount of energy consumed at this project is astounding.
http://www.ctchristians.com/makeover/Picture-040.jpg (broken link)

Solar Panels just after being installed:

Some of the stone veneer being installed on the second floor front balcony:

Our work vans and the FedEx truck that contained all of our materials for our part of the project. A friend works for FedEx and when he mentioned he would be volunteering they decided to pay him his salary and gave the truck use for free! Thanks FedEx! Notice the nice new pavement and plywood down now for a walkway from the street.

Most of my crew:

One of our partners (see the logo) and designer going over some plans:

The pictures do NOT do justice to how MANY people are there at once all trying to work in the same areas. This gives you something of an idea. The whole house was like this...sometimes you had to wait 2 minutes for the "up" traffic on the stairs to clear so you could go down. lol It was a bit nerve wrecking to say the least:

More landscaping taking place on the other side of the drive. YES it's THAT bright in the dead of night:
http://www.ctchristians.com/makeover/Picture-063.jpg (broken link)

Ahh morning. What day is it? More busy busy:
http://www.ctchristians.com/makeover/Picture-074.jpg (broken link)

A little handywork - shhh, you didn't see this:
http://www.ctchristians.com/makeover/Picture-079.jpg (broken link)

Starting to remove the scaffolding and wrap now that most of the veneer is done:
http://www.ctchristians.com/makeover/Picture-082.jpg (broken link)

The garage:
http://www.ctchristians.com/makeover/Picture-084.jpg (broken link)

People everywhere you turn!
http://www.ctchristians.com/makeover/Picture-089.jpg (broken link)

Behind the guy standing you can see THE bus and it's parked near a virtual trailer park of RV's and motorhomes of the cast and crew for the show.
http://www.ctchristians.com/makeover/Picture-093.jpg (broken link)

When I say they took over the town...I wasn't kidding:
http://www.ctchristians.com/makeover/Picture-094.jpg (broken link)

A little memory for me:
http://www.ctchristians.com/makeover/web-makeover.jpg (broken link)

A couple videos that give you an idea of the general commotion going on and it really doesn't show you the MADNESS inside the house:

http://www.jviello.com/makeover/Picture%20095.avi (broken link)
http://www.jviello.com/makeover/Picture%20096.avi (broken link)

I met some of the crew and overall it's something that you have to experience to fully appreciate...the pictures do not do justice. I'm smoked and need to get some sleep and relax a little.

Hope you all enjoy the pics. If you have any specific questions and I can answer them I will.

Wow amazing and a gorgeous house! You did good! I have to ask this, when building a foundation, doesn't it have to sit for awhile? I always wondered how the heck so they get a house up in a week, doesn't it start to fall apart a year later, after it starts to settle? I don't know much about construction but I know it can take months and months to build a house, and you guys got it done in a week! When does this air?

Great question! It's one I've been asked many times.

Generally, yes you are correct. However...money and chemistry can overcome many things. lol

The concrete poured was a special mix and cures in 3 hours!

As for "quality". Hmm. I'll say this. It's not 100% to my standards and I can't say that I can do the same job in 48 hours I can do in 2 weeks...but it's done pretty good. A quick inspection on many fronts shows everything is plumb and solid.

For instance...we did have one small problem when the taper used a "slower" drying compound and the painter painted and the paint started to bubble a little. BUT, it was taken care of and fixed right away.

LOL No, never heard that one. Hmmm

Young? You're too kind. I probably could be Geoff's younger brother. I must be aging gracefully. lol
