Yeah...where my family is from.
Also where the soon to be 27 time World Champions play.
Anyway, I am kind of a snob. Nothing against Hartford, its a fine city, but when your college's nearest major city is 30 minutes away and its HARTFORD thats just a little lame IMO.

I lived in the New York metropolitan area (northern NJ) for five years and did not like it. Too crowed and congested. I much prefer the Hartford area. True it is a small city but it is very "liveable". Home prices are reasonable and getting around is pretty easy with not a lot of traffic. Also I like the fact that I can get into decent restaurants without having to wait hours or making a reservation weeks in advanced. If I want to have culture, I can attend the many venues in Hartford or head into New York or Boston. JMHO Jay

Would you say the same if the city were Indianapolis? St Louis? Orlando? Charlotte NC? Cincinnati? Portland OR? Jacksonville FL?
All those cities are similar and in some cases Hartford has advantages.
The Hartford metro is a nice mid sized area with culture, history, corporate powerhouses galore and some of the finest suburbs and most beautiful countryside in the nation.
You can bash Hartford all you like, but yes you are being an inaccurate snob. An obnoxious one and not making many friends in the process...but somehow I don't think that matters to you or why you're here.
Please stay in NY.

I live in Weston, the NY meto area. My nearest city is NYC. The greatest city in the world. Other cities I kind of have a warped view on. Ever seen the New Yorker's view of the world? Thats what I have.

Not everyone in Weston shares your opinion on where the nearest city is. Your nearest cities are actually Norwalk and Stamford. Anyone not familiar with Connecticut coming across this thread should be aware of that.
With your "warped views" of the cities of Connecticut, I'm surprised you are considering a college in Connecticut. I think a NY university or college would suit you better.

From your posts, you could not cut it at Uconn. You should try a community college IMO.

The two people I know in Weston work in Norwalk and one grew up in Newton, MA (outside Boston).
