Hartford is about two hours from New York and two hours from Boston. I do not know anyone who commutes into Boston from here. We do not get any boston or New York stations on our local cable other than NESN and YES.
My family lives in Fairfield and they do not consider themselves part of New York. Yes they get New York stations but they stilll say they are part of Connecticut and New England. None of them ever worked in New York and they RARELY visit it.
So once and for all, while you may consider yourself a New York oriented person living in Connecticut, not everyone else does. Open your eye to other peoples opinion and realize that the world, even Connecticut, does not revolve around New York and certainly does not revolve around sports. Jay

I understand the local programming and general area influencing who one is a fan of. However, that does not mean that every person living in a specific area MUST be a fan of that team. Despite growing up in Tolland County, my sisters and I all cheer on different teams and live in different areas. I live in north Jersey and love the Red Sox. One sister lives in Maine and cheers on the Yankees. The other sister lives in Fairfield County and is a fan of the Cleveland Indians. I can assure you that I will never be a Yankees fan, or a Giants fan, no matter how long I stay in north Jersey.

Why don't you realize it that you are wrong generalizing the way you do. I am now closing this thread because it has gone on too long. JayCT, Moderator
