Default Considering moving to Wallingford

Is it easy to find a job around here? Is it a good place to move to? Please someone give me some insight about Wallingford.

Wallingford is a nice small to mid sized town. There is a wide range of housing there and a nice small downtown area. There are also a lot of businesses in town so depending on what you do, you should be able to find a job. Please note though that there is not much mass transit so you will probably need a car. I hope this helps. Jay

There are some buses but they do not run everwhere through town. Check CTTransit's website for bus route there. Jay

Wallingford doesn't have an extensive bus system because of it's relative spread out size. Wallingford is a good place to live, fairly low crime, next to the major highways of 15 and 91, close to a number of parks including Sleeping Giant.

The best parts of town in my opinion are:
1) The streets running parallel to North and South Main St. This is a great area with small shops, Choate Rosemary Hall, and a nice selection of older homes. Good area to walk around in. The closer you get to route 15 the more urban it gets and is less desireable.

2) Near route 64 there are some nice newer homes being built including a new community called the Willows. Quiet area however a bit away from stores and shopping. Route 64 is a connector between highways 15 and 91.

3) If you go on center St west towards 91 and past 91 interchange there are some fabulous rural homes with 1-5 acre lots out near Gouveia winery (a GREAT place by the way) Homes out here fetch $500K - $1.5Mil.

Jobs are something that is a toss up wherever you go, it depends on what your field is.
