You must be on the coast, where it's maybe a little warmer?? We've had snow on the ground for weeks!

Wow. Actually, I have the same queston for you. Here in southeastern Ct the ground is just about bare...I can see my green grass. So far this winter we have only had snow last about 7 days here. Where are in CT that you have had snow on the ground for weeks? I'll come there to go sledding (lol). That's amazing.

I'm in Monroe, in Fairfield County. We first had an 1" or so of snow the weekend after Thanksgiving, then in early December we had 3" of snow, and that never melted. Then a few weeks later we got 8-9" of snow, and then a few more inches a few days later----some light snow here and there since then, then ice and rain the past few days, turning the snow on the ground to mush. Some of our snow has melted over time, but most of it has remained. Even my five year old is sick of snow. And it's been snowing on and off all morning, although it's melting once it hits the pavement.
I was actually out yesterday afternoon taking pictures of the ice, we had a lot of trees down in my area, and closed roads due to falling branches and trees. I was out a little while ago, and saw some really freaky looking trees while running errands, they were weeping to the ground from the weight of the ice, even though they are generally upright trees. I wish I'd had my camera with me! But here was my house yesterday afternoon:

Here in Oxford we have had snow for weeks. My sister in law lives in Ridgefield and they have been snow covered too.

Well, let me give you my support, since there has been little here: I'll take Florida, if not many times, certainly by some margin over CT. I came back from FL 3 days ago and, yes, it was painful. I know the summers are long and you get tired of those as well. That's why I don't hate CT, I just think my physiology and personality suit FL better. The fact is, CT is a better place to raise my children. On the other hand, we still have our house in Hollywood and will have it forever as far as I am concerned. I know I will end up south of the 25th parallel again one day....

Nice pics!
I'm in Shelton and we've had the same weather. I feel like everyday we've had at least flurries...today for about 15 minutes it was a near whiteout on Bridgeport Ave. I don't mind though, what's winter without snow on the ground? Can't wait for Saturday's storm!
The new pre-storm liquid salt makes a huge difference on the roads too.

Honestly, I'm in central FL and the hurricanes aren't that bad. It's when you lose power afterwards. I feel for the OP, b/c I came from PA to FL. I would pick FL over the northeast anyday. Why don't the OP move then?

Next time there is snow anyone here is free to take mine off my hands if you want more. You have to come pick it up yourself though.
