Depends on where you are. Much of CT definitely does not fit that category. The urban areas clearly are not preppy except New Haven, and many of the preppys there have at least one screw loose. Many of the small towns are preppy.

Based on that image I'd have to say no. LOL I rarely see people dressed like that.

The funniest part though is we know people here don't really dress like that (well aside from a few) but sometimes that is the perception of how we all look and dress in different parts of this country.
We are just a bunch of arrogant, introverted, fast driving, rude, rich preppies who live in rural areas. That's a compilation from what I heard in my travels around the country.

Haven't been to Europe yet, I'll let you guys know their thoughts when I hit Spain, Italy, and Greece. Maybe they will at least know where or what CT is.
My girlfriend met her half sister for the first time a few weeks back when she went to Florida. When my girlfriend said she was from CT, the girl (nearly 25 years old) thought CT was in Pennsylvania, she didn't even know it was a state...

Where are the people who say CT schools are broken, because I'd like for them to read the above. Now that's just scary!

When I was a teenager I lived in London, and while visiting relatives in Oklahoma one summer someone asked me how long it took to drive to London from Oklahoma. LOL

My family in Australia have said they view CT as being pure, vanilla and introverted. Even in Italy and France CT is well known for its wealth. I'm not sure why Europeans and Aussies are so familiar with the high income places in America. In South American countries, they don't know CT. I usually just say "just outside of NYC" to make it easier.
I went to a comedy club in Sydney when I was visiting family and they asked what part of America we were from. When we responded CT, they asked where our yachts were parked and if they were able to fit under the Gladesville Bridge. LOL
