There are currently 155 single-family properties (not including condominiums) on the market in Wallingford with 31 (about 20 percent) under $250,000. Seven of these are mobile homes.

Default Meriden Is So Bad Now

I've lived here my whole life and Meriden is now full of welfare ,drugs, crime and non english speaking people. Meriden was the nicest town years ago. Just visit Meriden for the day and make sure to visit the central part of Merdien to see how crappy it is. It was a perfect place 20 years ago. NOT ANY MORE. Sad.

lived there 2 years and was mostly familiar with the eastern part of town. it was my experience that east of Parker Ave and north and south of E Main had some decent areas. nice condos on Yale, Paddock and Miller Ave's as well as some nice residential areas. but yes, downtown is pretty run down.

Middletown is a great suggestion. I'll check that out. It's been a long while since I posted this thread or looked at it but my desire to move back home to CT is still there. And I think I have a strong potential offer coming my way - from a small company in Windsor. So now I'm on a hunt for something that is convenient to Southington and Windsor. Will need to study that map some more....

Thanks for everyone's input. Very valuable adn appreciated!

West Hartford area would be a good halfway point for Windsor and Southington commutes

Hey, thanks! I wouldn't have thought of that myself. Now off to see if I can afford West Hartford....
