How do you say "Connecticut"
Just thought it would be fun as I hear it said so many different ways. You can almost tell if a person was raised in a mill town or rich suburb by how they say it.
I find myself saying Kinetta-ket
I've heard:
Cunetta-cut
C'netta-kit
Kinetta-kit etc.
What's your "slang"?

It's how we distinguish people who move up from Charlotte. LOL j/k
It's rare IMO that you hear the silent "c" as in Connect-ih-cut.
That's okay, I always thought it was inSURance and not INsurance, and umBRELLA and not UMbrella and c'MENT and not SEEment until I lived in Charlotte.

I guess I say "cunetta-kit".
When we were looking at different towns, I told my dad we were looking at some houses in "South-ing-ton" and he corrected me and said, no it's "Suth-ing-ton" (growing up he had cousins that lived there). So luckily I was straightened out before I moved here!

I say, "cunetta-kit," too. I also say New Brit-in and Suth-ing-tin. Life long resident, raised in Plainville.
I work with many clients relocating here from out-of-state and I love hearing how newbies pronounce towns because it reminds me that I do, in fact, have an accent.
